Bicycle built for…7?

Posted by Gretchen Helmer on September 25, 2007. Filled under Uncategorized.

What better way to celebrate an absolutely gorgeous fall morning than to hop on a conference bike for an excursion around downtown Minneapolis and on into Nordeast with a bunch of fantastic folks? It’s great fun to pedal! And Paul, the owner of Cycle Seven, actually had the courage to allow me to steer the bike around Nicollet Island. It was a bit nerve-wracking for the first 5 seconds and then it was great. Of course, I will have to say that once I figured out how to use the brake, all on board breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The bike is certainly an attention grabber and attracted lots of smiles and waves and hoots and hollers (especially from kids and the folks enjoying a pint at the sidewalk cafe outside The Local). It’s amazing what a kick people get out of oddities like this. It’s amazing what a kick it is to be part of the oddity.
